EMERGENCY ALERT: We are in a critical space crisis due to the high number of animals flooding into The Animal Foundation. We currently have over 800 animals in our care, and over the last four days, we have taken in 425 animals. So far this month, 1,714 pets have arrived at our doorstep.

We are out of space to house any more dogs on our campus, and we will soon face some very difficult decisions to ensure the well-being of our animals and team. This is our reality. We simply do not have room for the over 100 new arrivals that are coming in every day.

Foster: We URGENTLY need at LEAST 100 dogs to go into temporary foster homes so we can make more space in our shelter. Please come directly to the shelter on Monday, May 29 to pick up a foster dog. Team members and volunteers will be ready to assist from 11am to 4pm. We’re located at 655 North Mojave Rd. We’re asking people to foster for at least two to four weeks. Please do not bring your current pets with you to the shelter. We do not allow in-shelter dog-to-dog introductions.

Staff and volunteers will be onsite to help facilitate meet and greets with your family and to pair you with a dog that works best for your home. To expedite the process, we encourage anyone interested in attending to fill out our foster application here.

There is no cost to foster, and we will even provide you with food. If you end up falling in love with your foster dog and want to make it permanent, we will waive the dog’s adoption fee. Please do not call or email as our team will be extremely busy assisting people in-person at the shelter.

For those who find stray dogs: Try to find their owner first rather than calling Animal Protection Services or bringing them to the shelter. There are easy steps you can take to reunite the dog with their owner.
